Finns to share hybrid network experiences at Critical Comms Europe

Demonstrations will enable visitors to see operational procedures and technical solutions from the initial 112 call all the way to the hospital treatment room

Finns to share hybrid network experiences at Critical Comms Europe

Finnish authorities are to present how they work together using both TETRA narrowband and LTE broadband services at the Critical Communications Europe event (8-9 February 2017) in Copenhagen, Denmark.

They will demonstrate the end-to-end critical path of an incident starting from a call to the emergency response centre and ending up with treatment being carried out in an emergency room. The idea is to showcase both the operational procedures involved, as well as the many layers of technical solutions required.

Part of the solution is provided by a virtualised training simulator, which helps verify the communication models and plans, and provides first responders with the ability to carry out exercises and gain advanced experience of all kinds of incidents.

In CC Europe visitors will be able to take part in hands-on training sessions provided by communication trainers from VIRVE – the national shared public safety network operator.

14 Finnish critical communication eco-system members will be supporting the authorities and presenting their share of the complete solution in the Critical Communications Finland pavilion.

The members are: Airbus, Cloudstreet, Codea, Elektro-Arola, Goodmill Systems, Insta DefSec, Ixonos, Nokia, Omnitele, Portalify – a Sepura Group company, Roger-GPS, Secapp, TETRASim and VTT Research.

Visitors can meet representatives from the various Finnish authorities at the Critical Communications Finland pavilion (stand A7).
