Actility, the low power wide area networking (LPWAN) IoT provider, has established a partnership with Macnica Networks, the network, security and cloud solutions provider, to distribute and support its ThingPark IoT platform in Japan.
Macnica Networks will offer ThingPark as a component of IoT solutions for its end customers in government, manufacturing and telecoms. It will also provide technical support for the ThingPark developer programme in Japan, conduct ThingPark Approved interoperability testing, and sell developer kits for the local market.
Actility CEO Mike Mulica said: ”This partnership is about much more than simply distributing ThingPark. It’s about helping to grow the vitally important ecosystem around ThingPark by supporting local developers as they explore the possibilities of the IoT.
“And it’s also about offering ThingPark Approved testing in the Japanese market for the first time, which will help developers and hardware vendors bring their products to market more quickly, safe in the knowledge that they will work reliably in any ThingPark-powered network“
“We consider LoRaWAN to be a very promising technology for low power wide area IoT networks, which is getting more and more traction in the market. Our partnership with Actility is an important milestone to expand our IoT solution,” explained Jun Ikeda, . president, Macnica Networks Corp.
Actility’s ThingPark suite is an enabler of scalable LPWA networks and interoperable IoT Applications and services. ThingPark Wireless is a core network management and supervision solution for LPWA connectivity. ThingPark OS is a central IoT management service to connect sensors to applications.
ThingPark X is a data analytics and control framework which exposes data from connected things to applications, and offers off the shelf IoT industrial applications. ThingPark Market is a B2B ecommerce platform aggregating, distributing and connecting IoT devices and applications to the ThingPark platform.
Actility says that for vendors, it provides reassurance as they develop their products that they will work “out of the box” when deployed, and access to the largest base of LPWA networks globally to market their products; and for network operators, it provides a catalogue of tested devices that can be deployed immediately in end to end solutions for their customers.
