Excera Technology, the Chinese PMR manufacturer and service provider, is preparing to move beyond its home market and expand into the wider global market. The company will be looking to emulate Hytera, which is so far the only Chinese PMR manufacturer to successfully break out internationally. To give an idea of what it has to offer, Excera will showcase its latest DMR and PDT radio products at the PMRExpo 2016 event in Cologne, Germany from 22 to 24 November 2016.
Excera describes itself as a fast growing and innovative company specialising in design and manufacturing of high performance radios. It developed the world first full duplex multimode analogue, PDT and DMR portable radios. At the heart of its portfolio is its unified platform, which supports multi-mode conventional, pseudo trunk, simulcast and trunking solutions.
Its parent company, Vigor Communication, is a designer and manufacturer of trunking and simulcast infrastructure equipment. Vigor developed the first MPT1327 analogue trunking system in China in 1995, and has continued to be a leading provider of trunking systems to public safety users for more than 21 years.
As a pioneer member of the PDT standard in China, it has developed a full range of products which meet PDT, DMR Tier II and Tier III standards. Together, they offer a complete and customised communication system to serve diverse sectors, Excera said.
Integrated MPT, DMR and PDT solution
Excera single unified platform complies with the ETSI DMR open standard, MPT1327 open standard and PDT open standard, including portable and mobile radio, repeater, simulcast, pseudo trunk or trunking system, coupled with relevant application software, GPS mapping system, NMS, voice recording, etc. to provide a complete total system solution.
Key features first developed by Excera include:
• Full duplex capability for its portable and mobile radios
• Single frequency repeater operation for portable, mobile radios and repeaters
• Single frequency wireless link capability
• Auto-tuned duplexer for repeaters.
Excera revealed that it is looking for distributors and partners to help it penetrate the world markets outside China and pointed out that it also offers OEM/ODM product design and manufacturing services.
DMR/PDT portable radio and mobile radio portfolio
Excera offers DMR/PDT high tier terminals for public safety, utilities, transportation, harbours and oil & gas industries among others. Its radios support DMR Tier II conventional and Tier III trunking and PDT standards. The products are designed to meet Mil 810 standard and IP67 ratings.
The radios offer multi-mode operation, providing both analogue and digital DMR and PDT conventional or simulcast and trunking operation with full duplex, noise reduction, built-in GPS and Bluetooth wireless technology. Key features include:
• Full duplexer communication
• Large HD transflective TFT LCD display
• IP67 And MIL-STD-810 Standard compliance
• Multi-mode operation, MPT1327, PDT, DMR Tier II Conventional and DMR Tier III
Conventional products can be upgraded to DMR Tier III or PDT trunking mode by software to provide a cost effective migration solution. An additional feature on offer is an indoor location tracking application for use by the likes of security patrol using a built-in module.
Professional DMR repeater
Excera also offers a high performance repeater and base station, which support analogue and DMR Tier II standards, the company said. The repeater and base station supports multi-mode operation, including analogue mode, DMR pseudo trunk and DMR conventional and simulcast operations.
With auto switching between digital and analogue, the system achieves a smooth transition from analogue to digital operation. It is able to support multi-repeater operations, as well as wireless simulcast via IP Interconnect. With the advanced features of local area coverage, as well as wide area coverage, it provides a reliable guarantee for critical communications, Excera said.
Excera also numerous applications to support its infrastructure and terminals, such as dispatcher, GPS mapping and voice recording via its API and AIS interface. Its open API/AIS allows for third party software and applications to run on its system.
The system offers single sites and multi-site operation with seamless roaming capability. It provides high spectral efficiency, strong security, flexible and reliable networking with seamless switching between analogue and digital.
