Network operator Bravo has become the newest member of the TETRA + Critical Communications Association (TCCA) in the Middle East. The company is currently increasing the strength of the region’s mission-critical communications market with a huge investment in upgrading its network in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the latest TETRA two-way radio and LTE broadband technology.
The TCCA represents the interests of its members by working to ensure the delivery of secure and reliable open standard critical communications for a global market.
Dr. Fahad bin Mushayt, Bravo CEO, commented: “It is our honour to join the TCCA as a member, as we move forward in transforming and expanding the critical communications market in Saudi Arabia, and we look forward to being one of the most active TCCA members in the Middle East.”
The Middle East is one of the most dynamic regions for the adoption and expansion of critical communications networks and services. “This region delivers some of the most exciting projects in our industry. We are delighted to have Bravo as a member and look forward to sharing their knowledge and experiences,” said Phil Kidner, TCCA CEO.
Saudi Telecom (STC) subsidiary Bravo serves more than 300,000 subscribers for more than 3,000 customers. Bravo’s current network is based on a proprietary technology, and the replacement programme underpins Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which is about optimisation, digitisation of different verticals and enhancing public/private partnerships.
The new mission-critical TETRA network is planned for completion by 2019. Complementary mission-critical LTE, based on 3GPP Release 13, will be rolled out on a zone-by-zone basis according to customer needs, beginning in 2017.
Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has set out very high standards, mostly around TETRA functionality and the use of dedicated, highly resilient fully redundant networks, that Bravo must meet in order to serve critical sectors such as oil and gas. Bravo also provides communications services to the transportation sector, including the metros and other mass transportation, a market that is experiencing significant growth across the Kingdom.
Bravo is the mission critical operator partner of CCMENA, the leading critical communications event in the Middle East, which takes place at the Dubai World Trade Centre on 7-8 November 2016.
Enacted by a Royal Decree, The Public Telecommunication Company - Bravo, is the only licensed national operator providing state-of-the-art wireless PTT communication solutions to the enterprise, government and industrial sectors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
In alignment with the new Royal vision 2030 Plan, Bravo has adopted a new mandate as being the mission-critical arm of STC, delivering communication solutions to all national security, public safety and business critical users enabling them to increase their coordination and productivity through secured, reliable and encrypted technologies.
Prior to focusing on the National Security Communication Agenda of Saudi Arabia, Bravo provided its PTT communication services and solutions to all enterprise and government sectors in the Kingdom and played a tremendously successful role in support of Hajj (Pilgrimage) season.
