Actility launches ThingPark Approved programme for LoRa IoT platform

Actility, the organisation behind the ThingPark low power wide area (LPWA) LoRa IoT platform, has launched the ThingPark Approved partner programme, and has announced the first companies to achieve approved status.

Covering the solution spectrum from sensors and modules to gateways and ultimately applications, ThingPark Approved products are evaluated across a range of interfaces and integration points to ensure interoperability within an end to end solution.

The first set of approved partners to join the ThingPark Ecosystem are: Adeunis RF, AllThingsTalk, ATIM, Daliworks, Expemb, Finsecur, Flashnet, Foxconn, Globalsat, IMST, Kerlink, Microchip, MultiTech, MyDevices, Nemeus, NKE-Watteco, Omniimpex, Rising HF and Sensing Labs.

“One of the key challenges in making the IoT a global reality is to simplify the process of creating and deploying end to end solutions,” said Christophe Francois, VP for Ecosystem at Actility. “Even today, there are thousands of potential solution components from hundreds of suppliers, and the ecosystem is exploding.

“Open standards and certification programmes, such as the LoRa Alliance’s LoRaWAN initiative, have a key role to play, but they address specific technology requirements. ThingPark Approved is a business enabler, not a certification programme.

“It allows the partners in our ecosystem to feel confident that if their product is selected as part of a solution, they can rely on interoperability with any other product or service found in the ThingPark Marketplace.”

The ThingPark Approved programme offers a complete business accelerator to fast-track IoT solutions to market. ThingPark partners can connect and test their products and achieve ThingPark Approved status, interact with other solution providers in the ThingPark ecosystem, and then market and sell their solutions in the ThingPark MarketPlace.

The straightforward process will be managed through the ThingPark Partner website, where partner companies can open a partner account, submit their product description, track and manage the evaluation process to achieve ThingPark Approved status, and after approval join the marketplace to promote and market their product.

ThingPark Approved partners will have opportunities to participate in co-marketing activity, and all will be able to display the ThingPark Approved logo on their products, collateral and web-sites. The ThingPark partner web-site will be open for business early August, after completing its pilot phase. It will be accessible at:

The ThingPark Approved programme is the latest step in the development of Actility’s ThingPark IoT solutions platform. Alongside ThingPark Marketplace, the platform also comprises the ThingPark Wireless LPWA network, providing long-range coverage for low-power consumption sensors, and ThingPark Mash-up, enabling developers to create applications using the installed base of ThingPark Approved sensors, exposing sensor capabilities and access to sensor data through open APIs.

“The launch of the ThingPark Approved programme clearly demonstrates the growing maturity of the ThingPark ecosystem,” concluded Actility CEO Mike Mulica. “We’re delighted that such a diverse group of partners have stepped up to launch the programme and take advantage of the go-to-market acceleration that it delivers.”
