RADWIN to provide NLOS backhaul for Tier-1 US mobile carrier

RADWIN’s sub-6 GHz JET SCB wireless solution has been selected by a Tier-1 carrier in the US to provide non-line-of-sight (NLOS) backhaul for its small cell network. The company said that the RADWIN JET Small Cell Backhaul (SCB) solution was chosen ‘after outperforming the competition in countless field trials in the largest metro areas in the US’.

The JET SCB solution is designed to deliver superior performance in non-line-of-sight scenarios, overcome interference and provide ease of installation and operation. It incorporates such technologies as smart beamforming antennas and an innovative air interface optimised for NLOS deployments.

The solution’s purpose is to enable consistently high throughput in dense urban zones where direct line-of-sight is blocked and in dynamic multipath conditions inherent in street level deployments. JET SCB comes with planning and deployment tools to streamline and simplify planning, installation and operation - significantly reducing the costs of small cell deployments.
