Sepura provides DMR technology for Mongolian capital

Sepura DMR two-way radio technology is to be deployed by the Municipality of Ulaanbaatar, the capital of Mongolia for use by its public safety organisations. This contract was achieved in conjunction with Global Telecom, Sepura's channel partner in Mongolia.

The DMR solution will replace the city’s legacy analogue system whilst running alongside an existing TETRA infrastructure supplied by Teltronic (now a Sepura Group company) in 2010. This new system is designed to help the city better address and improve risk prevention and disaster management in the Mongolian capital.

Global Telecom will oversee the migration from analogue to digital communications for the entire municipality; it will be responsible for the complete installation and deployment of the new system and will deliver training to the public safety user teams operating in the Mongolian capital.

Batgerel Chuluunnast, general manager for Global Telecom, commented: “The superior quality of Sepura radios, the high levels of support provided throughout the bidding process and the extensive product portfolio presented, were instrumental in securing this prestigious contract.

“Sepura radios will be beneficial to users operating in the city's noisy streets thanks to their crystal-clear audio and will allow clear and uninterrupted communication which is a vital requirement in emergency situations.”

Nash Chou, business development manager for Sepura said: "This is our first DMR success in Mongolia and we are delighted to be able to share it with Global Telecom. I believe that the strength of our offering, together with our impressive track record with municipality organisations around the world, have been contributing factors to this impressive achievement.”
