The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), the industry association focused on driving the next generation Wi-Fi experience, today welcomed 22 new members that have joined its efforts to drive the growth of next generation Wi-Fi networks and services, such as the WBA’s Next Generation Hotspot (NGH) initiative.
The new members include; AT4 wireless, Benu Networks, Birdstep, Cloud4Wi, Euclid, Google, iBwave, InterDigital, Liquid Telecom, Mimosa, Ozone, Private Wi-Fi, Progresif, Purple Wi-Fi, Reliance Jio Infocomm, Space Wireless, Spirent, Sprint, Swisscom, ViaSat, Wyless and YoctoComm bringing the total WBA membership to 108.
They join existing members which include leading technology companies such as AT&T, Boingo Wireless, BT, Cisco Systems, Comcast, Intel Corporation, iPass, KT Corporation, NTT DOCOMO, Orange and Time Warner Cable. WBA operator members collectively serve more than 1 billion subscribers and operate more than 10 million hotspots globally.
The new players continue to expand on the breadth and depth of the WBA’s membership, which includes the leading, mobile and broadband network operators; service providers; and media players from across the Americas, Europe & Asia Pacific, as well as technology providers and partners.
The new members will join existing members at the London Wi-Fi Global Congress on 18-21 May 2015 at the Tower Hotel to present and discuss the domination of Wi-Fi across new hardware, applications and services.
