Sepura has been awarded the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category. This award, universally recognised as the UK’s highest accolade for business success, celebrates Sepura’s consistent achievements and the growth of its international business over the last three years.
As highlighted by the award, Sepura’s overseas revenues grew by 40% to €97.3m from April 2012 to March 2014, and there are now over 1.4 million Sepura radios in use in over 100 countries with customers benefit from Sepura’s robust, reliable and secure digital communications.
Significant new markets included Canada, with a contract to supply a TETRA network for Toronto Transit Commission, the third largest metropolitan transport network in the North American continent; Greece, where Sepura is building a new public safety network; and Luxembourg, where Sepura is delivering a TETRA infrastructure network for CREOS, the country’s main utility organisation.
Jonathan Hamill, Vice President of Government and Public Safety at Sepura, said: "Receiving the Queen’s Award is a great achievement that recognises the dedication and commitment of every single Sepura employee. We are delighted to share the news with our local and international networks, and thank them for their contribution to our collective success.”
Gordon Watling, CEO for Sepura, commented: “Sepura has consistently delivered double-digit growth over the last three years by focussing on exciting high growth opportunities, product innovation and delivering quality and customer service. Winning the Queen’s Award validates our strategy and we look forward to continued success through providing our global customer base with solutions that address the operational challenges they face every day.”
Approximately 160 Queen’s Awards have been announced this year for outstanding business achievement in the fields of International Trade, Innovation and Sustainable Development. Winners of The Queen’s Awards can expect an invitation to attend a special reception at Buckingham Palace.
They can also use the Queen’s Award Emblem in advertising, marketing and on packaging for a period of five years as a symbol of their quality and success. The awards are made annually by HM The Queen, and are only given for the highest levels of excellence demonstrated in each category.
