John Whitcomb joins as Business Development Manager for Sepura’s systems business in North and Central Europe and Vince Edwards as DMR Proposals Systems Engineer with global responsibilities.
Whitcomb was previously Projects & Systems Sales Director at Hytera and has also held the position of Global Business Development Manager at Fylde Micro Limited, the UK-based radio trunking solutions company acquired by Sepura in May of last year. He will be focussing on developing Sepura’s TETRA and DMR Tier III systems business.
John Whitcomb commented: “It is an absolute privilege to be at Sepura, especially at this very exciting time in the company’s history. I have long admired the way that Sepura professionally went about its business, as preferred supplier in the public safety market with its best in class TETRA terminals, and I hope to be able to contribute to that winning formula with DMR and TETRA systems in commercial environments over the coming years.”
Edwards has over 25 years’ experience in the PMR market, including System Sales Engineer roles at Hytera, Tait and Dolphin Telecom. He was responsible for the design and implementation of a number of large analogue trunked systems, particularly in the transport and utilities sectors, as well as more recent DMR Tier III projects.
Chris D’Aguiar, Sepura’s VP Commercial commented: "We are delighted to have John and Vince join the team. These appointments are designed to support our expanding share of the systems infrastructure and DMR market, and confirm our continued commitment to structure the organisation in order to reflect our broader solutions portfolio which includes our compelling DMR Tier III offering. John’s significant high-level international business development experience is a perfect fit for our growth plans and will help us capitalise on the demand we are seeing, whilst Vince brings vital in-depth knowledge and experience in both analogue and digital trunked network solutions.”
