Airbus Defence and Space to sell electronics production facility in Belgium

Airbus Defence and Space has concluded an agreement with the company Parter Capital Group, which is acquiring Airbus Defence and Space’s electronics production facility in Oostkamp, Belgium.

The move is part of Airbus Defence and Space’s continuing strategy of strengthening its core business and divesting non-core activities. Both sides agreed not to disclose the value of the transaction.

Airbus Defence and Space said the sale will consolidate its electronics production capabilities and develop further synergies. Under the agreement, the site will continue to deliver high-quality electronics parts to Airbus Defence and Space.

Among the products are major Airbus products like primary- and secondary radar components, power amplifiers and transponders which will enable Parter Capital Group to diversify its activities by entering into defence-related business.

It also enables Airbus Defence and Space to satisfy long lasting delivery commitments for highly complex defence related products. The Airbus Defence and Space plant in Belgium currently employs a workforce of about 150 employees.

Parter Capital Group is a swiss-based private equity firm acquiring science and technology driven companies since 15 years.

Airbus Defence & Space is currently in the process of finding a buyer for its PMR para-public communications unit (formerly known as Cassidian) and its commercial satellite communications services business. It expects to announce a deal this summer.
