Wi-Fi provider Aerohive Networks has partnered with Passforce, a scalable platform for mass deployment of Passbook apps, to exclusively power its new HivePass app, which delivers personalised loyalty experiences for today’s retailers.
A part of Aerohive’s Personalised Engagement ecosystem, which is built to enable a next-generation retail experience for both customers and retailers, HivePass unlocks the potential of native apps in iOS Passbook and similar Android apps via an exclusive integration with Aerohive Wi-Fi and iBeacon technology. This enhances and optimises the retail experience for consumers and modern retailing.
Endless Aisle app
As part of this, Aerohive has also announced an application that delivers an immersive personal shopping experience. The Endless Aisle app, assumes the logos, look and feel of the specific retailer location, and then offers tools for customers to utilize highly contextual product insights, QR scanning, inventory checks, assistance requests and location-based notifications.
Today, retail is focused on traffic, conversion, attachment and retention. However, retailers struggle to extract and coordinate unique insights around foot traffic, POS, mobile devices and inventory across all stores in order to optimise customer loyalty, acquisition and engagement. As a result retailers are missing a huge opportunity to grow their top line.
A majority of retailers today lack an integrated infrastructure and ecosystem to completely personalise the retail experience through mobility and Wi-Fi. They want to focus time and attention on their business and not the details around connectivity, security and infrastructure, and are looking for an integrated ecosystem that works well together.
Aerohive’s Personalised Engagement ecosystem of best-of-breed partners enable applications and insights that create engagement opportunities to grow retailers’ top lines.
As a result, with Aerohive’s HivePass retailers can immediately start notifying customers of special discounts, recognize repeat shoppers or even increment loyalty points. Enabled by the unique integration of HivePass with Aerohive Wi-Fi and iBeacon infrastructure, retailers can easily create, modify and optimise passes that deliver the desired experience without the effort and expense of developing a custom loyalty application.
Enabled by Magnet Systems, Aerohive’s Endless Aisle reference application leverages iBeacon and Wi-Fi to allow retailers to engage customers with information and insights about products not physically in the store.
Endless Aisle will reflect the logo and inventory of whatever store the customer is physically closest to, allowing retailers to tailor an endless aisle experience for free.
Endless Aisle leverages Aerohive infrastructure and intelligence to provide location-based connectivity that delivers product that is relevant to where the consumer is in the store, including the ability to request sales assistance from an associate.
“Passforce is excited to exclusively enable HivePass for Aerohive,” said Trung Nguyen, co-founder, Passforce. “Our teams share a common vision of Wi-Fi and iBeacon integration with loyalty apps as the future of retail, and the HivePass platform delivers that today.”
"With today’s always-on, always-connected shopper, consumers now expect more from physical retailers than just service, they expect an experience,” said Bill Hoppin, vice president of business development, Aerohive Networks.
“As a result, retailers must dramatically change and enhance their in-store digital environments. With Aerohive’s Personal Engagement ecosystem, we’re changing the retail experience by providing retailers with tools to do just that.
“With today’s announcement, Aerohive provides retailers with quick and easy access to the smart solutions they need to personalize the connection between retailer and customer, without pushing privacy boundaries,’ said Hoppin.
He concluded: “In addition, we're giving retailers the opportunity to experiment with these various solutions and choose those that work best to customise the in-store experience they're looking to provide, enabling them to become more in tune with their customers and better optimised for their businesses.”
