PMRExpo 2014: Frequentis to present flexible control centres solutions

Frequentis will present flexible control centre solutions for public safety authorities and organisations (BOS), industry, power management, and disaster protection management in real-time at the PMRExpo in Cologne on 25-27 November 2014 (hall 10.2, booth B03).

Individually tailored solutions for networked national control centres as well as for regional ones make the Frequentis portfolio unique, the company said. There is no single solution for all control centres; all have different requirements and Frequentis claims it can fulfil them through the continuous expansion of its product portfolio.

All solutions share common features – highest availability, reliability, fail-safety, redundant and robust systems, and a modular system architecture.

Control centre solutions
Frequentis will present, in addition to established solutions such as 3020 ICCS, 3020 IPC and ASGARD, the new product release 3020 LifeX for the first time in the German-speaking world. On this new platform existing IT infrastructure can be used; the IP-based solution is scalable and makes possible integration of any desired services.

International standards such as NG 112 LTD are an integral part of the product and the platform is ready for the integration of social media and eCall. An extraordinary feature is the innovative, creative, and user-friendly graphical user interface, according to Frequentis.

All functions of the control centre solution can be used in the control centre as well as outside of it via mobile devices. In this way crucial reaction times can be reduced on-site, and situational awareness of relief forces is supported.

Incident and crisis management
Frequentis will also present a real-time situation picture for the first time. It is set up in a modular manner and all information is available in real-time and across organisations. Frequentis Incident and Crisis Management solutions can be combined with existing systems and are based on HTML5 technology.

Current projects and cooperation in Germany
The Bavarian Police relies on Frequentis. On 4 August 2014 the signing ceremony between the Bavarian State Office of Criminal Investigation (Bayerischen Landeskriminalamt) and Frequentis took place. Frequentis provides integrated communication and control systems for the police control centres in all of Bavaria.

The first system will be delivered to support the security arrangements at the next G7/G8 summit at Schloß Elmau on 7-8 June 2015. A key part of the contract is the integration of the German TETRA BOS digital radio network for public safety authorities and organisations into the systems.

In the future all currently separated communication systems (telephony and radio) will be combined, so that these can be controlled via a standardised and user-friendly graphical user interface.

Frequentis is also strengthening its cooperation with Fraunhofer FOKUS (Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems Fokus). Collaborative safety in crisis and disaster management is the common topic of research. To this end, Frequentis and Fraunhofer FOKUS presented the signed cooperation agreement on 2 September 2014 in Vienna.

It includes the common use and setup of the demonstration centre for collaborative safety “safety lab“ at the Fraunhofer FOKUS in Berlin. Under the direction of Fraunhofer FOKUS, Frequentis, together with other partners in the safety lab, shows results of research and solutions for collaborative disaster management.

The organisation of civil protection and rescue operations for people and infrastructure is demonstrated using the example of an extreme weather situation.
