Huawei launches Cloud Fabric and Agile Branch solutions in Western Europe

Huawei launched its Cloud Fabric Solution and Agile Branch Solution at the Huawei Western Europe Enterprise Media Day 2014 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, today (20 November 2014).

Huawei’s Agile Branch Solution, which is centred on services and user experience, helps enterprise customers achieve one-click deployment, zero-touch local maintenance, and openness and value-added service (VAS).

Meanwhile Huawei’s Cloud Fabric data centre network solution uses an architecture that is elastic, simple, and open, giving enterprises the ability to innovate and adapt to fast-changing cloud services.

Also at the media conference, Huawei, together with its European customers, shared details of the successful application cases of its Agile Network solution and showcased the significant business value the Agile Network presents to enterprise customers.

"Since its rollout in 2013, Huawei's Agile Network solution has been deployed on more than 350 commercial networks across seven industries: government, finance, healthcare, large enterprise, transportation, education, and media and entertainment. It has helped customers to build multiple high-profile solutions such as intelligent transport, wireless cities, smart shopping malls, and smart travel," said Leon Wang, VP of the Switch & Enterprise Communications Product Line.

"As the core of the Agile Network architecture, Huawei's Agile Controller is developed on open architecture and is capable of seamlessly connecting to customers' current service systems, significantly enhancing users' service experience and accelerating new service provisioning."

Hand in hand with its global customers, Huawei has been helping them to improve operational efficiency and productivity while lowering infrastructure deployment complexity by leveraging Huawei's innovative Agile Network Solution.

With the large-scale commercial deployment of the Agile Network, Huawei has aided a growing number of global enterprises to achieve rapid service innovation and provisioning, greatly improving their communication and O&M efficiency as well as enabling them to quickly adapt to the changing markets.

At the conference, Henk van Raan, director facility management/new business development of Amsterdam ArenA, the largest stadium in the Netherlands, told attendees about the value brought to the venue by Huawei’s Agile Stadium Solution. This solution currently serves several well-known European football clubs, such as Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, and FC Schalke 04.

By leveraging its industry-leading Wi-Fi technologies, Huawei's Agile Stadium Solution is able to connect tens of thousands of spectators within a stadium. Such agile connection deeply integrates IT services into the stadium's businesses and delivers VAS, such as location-based precise information pushing and parking navigation.

The spectators can connect to the Wi-Fi network in real time for video on demand (VoD) and video playback, as well as a variety of online interactions and socialising activities, so they don’t miss any exciting moments. Service innovation and development based on the Wi-Fi network means the stadium operator sees a high return on investment.

Moreover, Huawei's Agile Stadium solution can identify user information and service content, capable of allocating more network and service resources to serve high-value customers and further create more commercial profits for the stadium operator.

21Vianet Group, China's largest carrier-neutral Internet Data Centre (IDC) services provider, adopted Huawei's Agile Controller and the industry's highest-performance CloudEngine series data center switches to build China's largest commercial software-defined networking (SDN)-based data centre network.

21Vianet's Data Centre Interconnect (DCI) network currently connects over 80 data centres in more than 40 cities across China, serving over 2,000 well-known customers. By leveraging a unified network interconnection control mechanism, 21Vianet implements flexible interconnections and traffic optimisation among multiple data centres, increasing the DCI network resource utilisation efficiency to 80%.

As a new media company that has obtained a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) license issued by the Chinese government, Bus Online (Holdings) Limited (Bus Online) has deployed Huawei AR511 series Agile gateways.

In doing so, Bus Online has not only improved China's overall bus Wi-Fi network deployment capability, but also enhanced Wi-Fi network security and user experience.

The AR511 helps to strengthen user stickiness, reduces network operations and maintenance (O&M) costs, and makes it possible to implement precision marketing with its local storage and accurate positioning capabilities, as well as a built-in Android open platform.

Bus Online also provides a full array of mobile Internet services such as mobile media, entertainment, communications, and payments, as well as Online 2 Offline (O2O) services for bus passengers, building a mobile ecosystem in the bus industry.
