New York-based high tech start-up, wot.io and London-based M2M/IoT platform provider Stream have agreed to integrate and develop further services around their respective technologies in a bid to further accelerate development of the fast growing IoT sector.
Following a recently announced partnership with ARM, whose architecture powers more than 50 billion chips shipped worldwide, Stream Technologies is expanding its services and value add propositions to serve a broad range of key industries.
Stream's IoT-x Platform, an agnostic, API based next gen connectivity management platform, which enables monitoring, management and billing of cellular, satellite and wide area low power radio networks is specifically developed for carriers seeking to compete effectively in the IoT space.
wot.io has created the world’s first open data service exchange platform - opening the way for the exchange of data on a controlled basis between discrete data sets under different or common ownership.
The strategic partnership introduces a degree of integration between differentiated IoT service providers previously unheard of in the IoT world, according to Stream.
This will enable minimal time to market connectivity management options via Stream's IoT-x connectivity enablement platform, scalable/agnostic/flexible data exchange and routing options via wot.io's platform, and optional integrated and automated simplified or complex accurate data charging models.
Nigel Chadwick, Stream CEO, stated: “We are tremendously excited with the market opportunity that will derive from our strategic partnership with wot.io. The innovative technologies developed by our respective companies have incredible synergies and I am amazed at the similarity in ethos and visionary cultures that characterise both our organisations.
“Until now the IoT sector has witnessed incremental developments in a fragmented fashion - I truly believe that we are leading the way in collaborative partnerships that will accelerate value creation and enablement within the sector.
“There is evidence of 'cluster' development and partnering, where unique innovative agnostic and open technologies are combining to open up dynamic and fresh business models and monetisation within the IoT sector - applicable on a global basis. This is certainly needed if the forecast of billions of connected devices over the next few years is to be attained.
“Effectively, with wot.io and further partnerships and integrations to be announced in the coming months, Stream's IoT-x connectivity management platform is emerging as the most innovative and disruptive platform around, removing all barriers to cellular, satellite and low power radio network carriers, to launch competitive network connectivity into the IoT/M2M market,” said Chadwick.
He continued: “At the same time Stream wraps optional value added services and can provide expert & experienced 'know-how' into the mix for carriers who have limited experience or resources available to support and end to end IoT solution for their customers.
“Following the announcement of Stream as a strategic partner by ARM last week, our partnership and collaboration with wot.io, places Stream in a leading position to benefit from the future swell of enterprises seeking to scale their M2M and IoT operations on a worldwide basis.
“Stream will continue to invest in state of the art communications layer platform technologies, strengthening further our position at the forefront of the IoT ecosystem,” concluded Chadwick.
Stream’s proprietary IoT-x connectivity management platform fuses monitoring, management and billing on a single platform with super resilient backhaul infrastructure, to provide a 'virtual state of network' representation.
This flexibility and light technical solution is suitable for MNO/Carriers anywhere in the world seeking a platform that enables them to introduce leading edge and best of breed M2M services into their home market, thus gaining an immediate competitive advantage.
