Datalogic adds 16-key keypad to PowerScan PM9500 area imager

Datalogic has added a 16-key alphanumeric keypad to its PowerScan PM9500-DK area imager. The company says interaction and versatility are the key features of this new area imager, which is designed to meet the most demanding needs in any production environment.

The mobile telephone-like keypad provides access to numbers and to alphanumeric characters. The four function keys can be configured with single or multiple characters to increase product versatility and make repetitive actions faster and easier.
As a result, the PowerScan PM9500-DK model increases interaction with the host system and opens up the possibility of new potential uses. For example, data not encoded into a bar code, such as weight or quantity, can be added manually. Interactive sessions can be managed easily with the application running on the remote host.
