Toughshield, the rugged mobile computers provider, has appointed Tim Beere as global head of marketing communications. Beere will take responsibility for leading the company’s marcom operations as it prepares to launch a range of new rugged devices.
Beere joins from LG Electronics where he was European head of marketing for the Mobile Communications division. Beere also held a series of positions at Motorola, most notably as global product marketing manager.
Commenting on his new role, Beere said: “We are at the beginning of a rugged revolution in the smart device space and I’m incredibly excited to be at the forefront of this movement leading the way with Toughshield. Whilst rugged devices have historically and predominantly focused on the enterprise market, the accessibility and benefits of Toughshield devices are much broader.”
At LG, Beere devised LG’s regional growth strategy and oversaw notable device launches with Nexus 4 and 5 as well as LG G and G2. He was also involved in the launch of the RAZR range and HELLOMOTO campaign while at Motorola.
Beere added: “The rugged revolution presents a huge growth opportunity. Toughshield has a unique and credible proposition and is perfectly placed to capitalise on this. To be given the responsibility to lead marcom for Toughshield is a real privilege.”
Mark Davis, director – strategy, marketing and operations for Toughshield commented: “Tim brings a wealth of consumer smartphone experience to the marketing team which will be invaluable as we enter the new enterprise consumerisation era.”
Tim will be supported in his role by another new starter, Melanie Havemann, who joins as marketing assistant.
