ZTE has helped Hong Kong operator CSL to expand 4G LTE network coverage on Hong Kong’s Mass Transit Railway (MTR) rail and subway system, offering CSL customers an enhanced high-speed mobile experience on their journeys and commutes on the MTR East Rail Line, West Rail Line and Ma On Shan Line.
“In our quest to provide better quality mobile services for our users, we continually strive to strengthen our networks to make them faster, more robust and with wider coverage,” said Christian Daigneault, CTO of CSL. “Our customers deserve a consistent, reliable and excellent 4G service experience on their MTR journeys.”
In collaboration with ZTE, CSL launched the world’s first dual-band 4G LTE/DC-HSPA+ network in 2010, and has since built up an unrivalled track record of leading the global industry in 4G LTE technology innovation. CSL also collaborated with ZTE to launch the first international LTE roaming service.
According to the MTR Platform benchmarking test report by research company Kapado in December 2013, CSL was ranked the highest for quality and speed in Hong Kong.
“In the high network traffic environment of the MTR, test results show that CSL users can enjoy stable and fast connection, thanks to ZTE’s LTE technology,” said Xiang Yang, general manager for LTE Products at ZTE.
“We are committed to working with CSL in delivering a better user experience to customers, and to supporting the continual growth of CSL’s world-leading networks. As a long-term strategic partner of CSL, ZTE’s commitment to innovation will reinforce CSL’s leading position in Hong Kong.”
