Taqua, the fixed and mobile switching systems and convergence applications provider, has selected the Adax Signaling Gateway for deployment in its small cell core network infrastructure.
Adax specialises in signalling gateways, high-performance packet-processing, security and network infrastructure products. The company describes the AdaxGW 5.x on ATCA as a versatile addition to Taqua’s portfolio of solution offerings.
“We are all pleased with our signalling gateway upgrade with the AdaxGWs ATCA 2U platform,” said Payam Maveddat, EVP of Taqua Product Management. “ATCA offers a robust, economical solution computing platform designed to meet the needs for scalability and flexibility in today’s wireless markets. The Adax gateways have performed flawlessly.”
The AdaxGW is a single software image configurable and reconfigurable to meet any requirement for today’s emerging all IP network. It supports legacy SS7 connections to any SIGTRAN Ethernet connection and ATM-IP and I-TDM interworking delivers VoIP for access concentration with media conversion thus providing a solid foundation for user and control plane applications.
Adax ATCA-based application ready platforms provide integrated hardware and software systems with high availability and scalability built in as standard. A full range of cost-effective 2, 6 and 14 slot solutions are available delivering the industry’s lowest cost per slot. For this project, Taqua has chosen the highly-economical 2U DC chassis with fully redundant hardware and sophisticated HA software from Adax.
Taqua small cell core network products
Taqua’s small cell core network solution is comprised of Taqua’s T6100 Convergence Server, T7100 Multimedia Controller, and the T7000 Intelligent Switching System with mobile interface cards; as well as an integrated session border controller and security gateway from Acme Packet.
The T6100 is a SIP-based mobile convergence application server that integrates with existing mobile core elements, including the HLR, SMSC, and MSC; using standard ANSI-41 and WIN protocols within CDMA networks.
The T6100 extends macro network features and functions to small cell-served subscribers. It delivers voice, messaging, and data convergence; provides supplementary services and regulatory services; and enables seamless macro/small cell handoffs. The T7100 provides the media gateway controller and MRF functionality, while the T7000 provides all the media gateway control functionality.
Taqua’s small cell core to bridges legacy circuit switched mobile cores with an IP core, enabling Carriers to offer the same higher quality voice, SMS, data and location enhanced services to customers being served within their new small cell deployments. The solution also enables the seamless evolution of voice and messaging services as well as 4G/LTE (VoLTE).
