Thales has unveiled its WiLiX Zen solution for global parking management in real-time at the 2013 edition of Parkopolis. The solution covers the entire range of equipment, including vehicle entry/exit control stations, cash register systems, a central supervision system and the maintenance. The system offers easy and user-friendly access for drivers, while providing a flexible, secure tool for operators.
The key aspect of this new service of WiLiX solution is the connection between the maintenance management tool and the supervision system, which allows operators to follow the passages of drivers, the state of the equipment and payments.
They are then able to send requests, via the new web portal, to the maintenance system as soon as equipment needs an intervention to resolve an installation malfunction. This request is treated by the system, which manages the intervention, follows it, terminates the action and automatically informs the parking operator.
Unlike the other existing solutions on the market, which use call-centres, the Thales solution uses a web portal and thus gives operators a double advantage of reliability (approaching 99.9%) and improved performance.
As French market leader in public car park management systems, Thales has now equipped close to 600 car parks in France (in city centres, at Paris Roissy Charles de Gaulle and Orly airports and on the TGV East line) and worldwide (intermodal parking facilities in Turin, Dubai and South Africa).
Thales is a global player in providing solutions and services for revenue collection systems, notably for public transportation operators, but equally in the parking sector, with a 30% market share.
