Captec introduces two new rugged laptop computers

Captec has introduced two new cost-effective rugged laptop computers, expanding their existing range of highly mobile rugged tablet computers. The laptops are designed to provide powerful mobile computing and survive challenging field environments, without the added expense of the unnecessary environmental protection.

Captec’s new rugged laptops have full MIL-STD810G shock and vibration protection, providing dependable operation, even with the roughest handling, according to the company.

The 14” model is designed with IP53 ingress protection allowing it to be used in bad weather or wet conditions, while the convertible 12” model can also be used as a tablet computer and has spill proof display and keyboard. They offer sunlight readable and night vision compatible touch panel displays and the latest 3rd generation Intel Core i processors giving superb data processing and graphics capabilities.

Hot swap batteries and long battery life provides uninterrupted operation avoiding down time at critical moments. A single charge will give more than a working day’s operation.

Versatile connectivity is provided by serial, USB and LAN connections plus extensive wireless connectivity, ensuring communication can be maintained at all times. A wide range of accessories and Windows 7/ 8 or Linux operating systems support specialist field applications.

Captec believes these rugged laptop computers are ideal for applications, such as field service, mobile communications, line inspection, surveying and any specialist applications requiring powerful, survivable and dependable mobile computing. The laptops are available now.
