Hytera TETRA radio technology has been chosen by berolina elektronik, a supplier of TETRA equipment to the Mercedes-Benz engine factory in Berlin-Marienfelde, Germany. The Berlin headquartered company equips the in-house fire brigade at the Mercedes-Benz engine factory with TETRA radio technology.

The radio system is used in the factory for safety critical communications by the factory fire brigade during fire service drills and actual operations. It provides communications between the fire brigate staff, officer-in-charge and the control centre.

The factory fire brigade berolina have decided on an ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA communication system supplied by Hytera Mobilfunk. The ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA radio system is a highly scalable digital TETRA mobile radio system. It can be used to implement structures ranging from single-cell systems up to nationwide networks. It supports decentralized and centralized network architectures, enabling it to optimally satisfy all user requirements.

‘This system covers almost any communication requirement in the plant, irrespective of whether lone worker protection, the electronic information system (EIS) or works safety is involved,’ said Jörg Massierer, chief of the factory fire brigade
