CCW 2013: Hytera delivers first TETRA county network to the French Bas Rhin region

Following the award of a contract at the end of 2012, Hytera Mobilfunk has delivered its ACCESSNET-T IP TETRA radio system to the Bas Rhin General Council in France. Rohde & Schwarz France is the integrator and general contractor for this project.

This system is the first TETRA system deployed by a French county and shared by different local agencies. It consists of 9 TETRA base stations, a redundant switching node IPN, an Automatic Vehicle Location System (AVL) and dispatcher applications for smart road operations.

Approximately 400 radio terminals will be used in the first operational phase, which is expected to start at the end of 2013.

Besides its use for voice communications, Bas Rhin General Council plans to use the TETRA system for smart road telemetric applications. Temperature and frost measurements and other street status data will be transferred over the TETRA system.
