Spirent Communications, the wireless networks, services and devices tester, has announced that its Location Technology Solution (LTS) has been validated for SUPL 2.0 testing.
With this announcement, the threshold for Global Certification Forum (GCF) SUPL 2.0 tests is now reached, activating the mandate for device manufacturers around the world to certify all upcoming SUPL 2.0 enabled devices.
Spirent said it recognized that SUPL 2.0 compliance is a key component of delivering next-generation Location-Based Services (LBS). SUPL 2.0 supports a wide range of capabilities, from geography-based advertising to location accuracy during emergency LTE calls and additional global navigation satellite systems such as GLONASS and BeiDou-2.
‘The ability to support the next-generation LBS and stricter requirements for E911 is a crucial objective for operators and device manufacturers,’ said Spirent director of product management Rajat Agarwal. ‘SUPL 2.0 compliance is a critical element of upcoming mobile device deployments for high speed LTE networks and we are dedicated to providing test solutions that help our customers achieve success.’
