Airwave adds extra mobile data terminal to its Accessories Catalogue

irwave, the leading provider of critical voice and data communications to public service organisations in Great Britain, has added the TETRAtab C Series to the Airwave Accessories Catalogue. This device addresses the needs of a number of sectors that have a front-line workforce, especially the Fire and Rescue Services (FRSs).

The TETRAtab C Series is a standalone tablet that facilitates data on the move in a similar way to the demountable mobile data terminals (MDTs).

John Lewis, Chief Operating Officer, Airwave said: ‘A few months back we added two demountable MDTs to the Accessories Catalogue so that crews working away from the fire appliance still have access to vital information on the ground. The C Series now gives FRSs the option of a free-standing device.’

The C series offers users a cost-effective solution, which is rugged and lightweight. The device has a hardened case, is drop and splash proof, and has improved dust resistance.

The high definition touch screen tablet comes with an on-screen keyboard or handwriting feature, but can quickly flip back into a traditional laptop style QWERTY keyboard. The TETRAtab C Series comes with a number of connectivity options. Airwave has initially chosen to offer the 3G/GPRS variant and is currently considering other options such as inbuilt TETRA.

Airwave is currently working with TETRAtab to potentially further enhance the portfolio with docking sleeves additional screen options (S-Series) and other form factors.
