Huawei showcased what it claims is the world’s first 4x4 MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) carrier aggregation solution for TDD-LTE at the Huawei-hosted 2012 Global Analyst Summit in Shenzhen, China yesterday (30 April 2012).
The solution adopts leading 4x4 MIMO technologies and allows the peak data rate for a single end user to reach up to 520Mbps.
At the Global Analyst Summit, Huawei demonstrated its solutions for terminals and 4T4R (4 Transmitter 4 Receiver) RRUs (Remote Radio Unit). Analysts saw the advanced processing ability of Huawei’s TDD-LTE products and solutions with peak data rates of up to 520Mbps.
The company said that the growing number of smartphones and use of apps worldwide has led to a mobile broadband market boom. End users now expect high-quality mobile data service with higher data speeds, which brings capacity challenges to mobile networks.
In 2011, Huawei announced its GigaSite solution to help operators ease network capacity pressure. The 4x4 MIMO carrier aggregation solution for TDD-LTE based on Huawei’s GigaSite concept can meet end users’ demand of higher data speeds.
Carrier aggregation and MIMO are leading technologies utilized to improve utilization of spectrum and network capacity in order to provide subscribers with a better mobile data experience.
