Motorola Solutions wins major terminals deal in Germany

Motorola Solutions has secured an order to supply approximately 53,000 TETRA digital radios, accessories and supporting services to various security organisations in the federal state of Hessen in Germany.

The radios will be used by the police, emergency services, aid agencies, public and private fire departments. The order includes the MTP830 FuG and MTP850 FuG TETRA handheld digital radios and the MTM800 FuG TETRA vehicle mobile radio, along with the MTP850Ex portable ATEX radios for use in hazardous environments.

The order also includes Motorola’s integrated terminal management solution, which enables software upgrades and configurations to be carried out remotely from a central location.

The win follows similar successful tenders in Germany for Motorola, including contracts with the federal states of Lower Saxony, Berlin, Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, Thuringia and the Federal Ministry of the Interior. Germany is presently rolling out what will be the world’s largest TETRA public safety network in the world.
