Telent takes over analogue radio unit of Cassidian Communications

Euromicron subsidiary Telent has taken over Cassidian Communications’ analogue radio activities. Telent will provide support for existing Cassidian customers, offering repair, maintenance, spare parts management and services, as well as assuming responsibility for developing further products and delivery.

Dr Stefan Kindt, MD of Telent said: ‘We guarantee quick and competent support with our nationwide service organisation, round the clock service competence centre and the maintenance and repair centre. ‘Our extensive experience in system integration and radio communications also mean we can help customers expand their Professional Mobile Radio (PMR) networks.’

Cassidian has decided to offload its analogue activities to concentrate on digital radio. It believes the requirements placed on voice and data services and the integration of them as part of application-specific complete solutions means customers are increasingly migrating to digital communication infrastructures.

Dr Markus Kolland, CEO of Cassidian Communications, said: ‘In line with this trend, we aim to focus in future solely on the digital solution portfolio we have built around the TETRA and TETRAPOL product family.’
