New helical antennas enable satellite comms

Specialist Antenna Solutions has introduced a range of dual-band helical stub antennas from American manufacturer Maxtena. The antennas are aimed at the market for portable GPS and Iridium devices in both military and commercial applications such as man-packs, military radios, portable tracking systems, precision surveying equipment and satellite communications terminals.

Housed in a robust radome, the range of Quadrifilar antennas are compact, lightweight and all less than 50mm in height.

The antennas are terminated in standard SMA or TNC connectors to make integration into a variety of applications straightforward.

The three most popular models are a dual-band GPS L1/L2 antenna for precision GPS applications, a dual-band GPS/GLONASS antenna and a dual-band GPS/Iridium antenna.
