The eleventh PMR Expo will take place on 22-24 November 2011 at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany. The event has already attracted more than 180 exhibitors and will begin with an introductory speech from Ralf Jäger, minister for home affairs and local government of North Rhine-Westphalia.
PMR Expo is the annual branch meeting place for users and operators of professional mobile radio (PMR and Trunked Radio) systems as well as command and control centres.
The event addresses more than 2,000 executives and specialist visitors and participants from target groups including: BOS (authorities and organisations with security tasks – police, fire departments, rescue services, THW), local public transport (ÖPNV), utility companies, industry, logistics and specialised trade as well as from municipalities.
All the well-known companies in the field will be present to demonstrate their latest products and solutions. In addition, the conference streams will feature end users talking about their real-life experiences and their views on future developments..

Control Room Communications
IIR’s second annual Control Room Communications conference, to be held on 30 November – 2 December 2011 in London, is an international event dedicated to addressing the specific challenges of control room communications and designed to bring together critical communications professionals and experts from around the world.
It will examine the technical, operational, and human resource aspects involved in ensuring seamless and effective control room communications, offering critical communications users actionable advice on how they can optimise their incident response and develop proactive event management.
With more than 16 end user case studies, the event will deliver valuable new insights and provide the opportunity to find out more about the London Metropolitan Police Service’s approach to business continuity planning at a pre-conference workshop on 30 November.

PSC Europe Forum
The PSC Europe Forum Conference will be held on 30 November and 1 December 2011 in Warsaw, Poland. The event will be hosted by the Main School of the Fire Service (SGSP), which is also involved in the preparation of the event.
The event will focus on cyber crime, space applications in crisis management, the impact of social networks on crisis management and interoperability and solution networks for enhanced communication.
Among the conference sessions, highlights include: a presentation on cyber security trends and answers for critical network infrastructure from Alcatel-Lucent’s Timo Bakker; an exploration of space applications in crisis management by Jakub Ryzenko of the Polish Space Office; and a speech by Arnout de Vries of TNO on how social media represents collaboration that clicks.
Finally, there will be a report on the European Commission’s Joint Research Centre’s activities on interoperability and solutions for networks for enhanced communications from the organisation’s Gianmarco Baldini.
